Mosquitoes

Mosquito control starts with emptying all standing water around your home or business and taking steps to make sure it doesn’t build up again. Many of the disease-carrying species of mosquitoes prefer to breed in these man-made containers rather than in natural wetlands, so they can be closer to humans and general information to pest information. Mosquitoes pose the risk of spreading the West Nile virus. Call us today and ask about our seasonal treatment plan to protect your family.

Termites

Termites cause serious damage to homes and wooden structures. Some home owners may confuse flying ants with flying termites. Mario's Pest Control is trained to distinguish between these two insects based on differences in their appearance. Call today to schedule an inspection.

Ants

Ants primarily invade homes in search of food sources. Make sure you avoid leaving crumbs of food around your home and get regular inspections to know where the ants are getting in from.

Springtails

Springtails are not dangerous insects and will not harm people or property. However, they are pests and can become a big nuisance when they enter homes or businesses. In some cases, springtails can be mistaken for flea’s due size similarities and the way they both hop around.
Fun Fact: Spring tails can also jump up to 7 inches when they feel threatened by a predator.
When it comes to spring tails, you want to check for mold, potted plants, overwatering, moisture levels, new mulch, under decks and anywhere else that would be deemed an environment for springtails.
Spring tails usually come in high numbers and can become a nuisance in and around your home. Call Mario’s Pest Control and ask about our springtail program.

Carpenter Bees

The male carpenter bees are usually the ones that you often see hovering around and guarding the nest from intruders. They lay their eggs in common areas like fascia boards, decks, sheds, front porches, and other areas that provide an environment for a potential nest site. Carpenter bee frass aka bee excrement refers to the saw-dust like waste material produced by carpenter bees to build their nests. Its can stain surfaces and indicate potential structural damage.

DAMAGE: Female carpenter bees are responsible for excavating the nesting tunnels. They use their strong mandibles to chew through wood, creating tunnels that can extend several feet in length overtime. These tunnels may weaken wood structures, causing damage.

CARPENTER BEE HOUSES: Carpenter bee houses will collect carpenter bees, but will not get to the root cause of the problem. We recommend not placing these houses to any structure as their strong phermones attract other carpenter bees to the areas and can cause more damage.

SAFETY: Dealing with carpenter bees can be risky, especially if that are located in hard to reach areas or if individuals have allergies to bee stings. Applying insecticides and dusts can be dangerous, especially without the proper training.

PEST PROFESSIONAL: By hiring Mario’s Pest Control you have peace of mind, knowing that the infestation will be properly addressed and steps will be taken to prevent future activity.
